It doesn’t take long for my mind to start thinking in overdrive as it often does when I’m alone, especially driving or running. This is when the ideas start flowing. This will be the 6 hour round trip that gives birth to Portalbella.com.

Hi, my name's Bobby and thank you for checking out Portalbella. I work in the I.T. field and one of my many duties is maintaining our company’s intranet site. The company’s intranet home page is your basic layout which includes links to frequently used resources, RSS feeds, weather widgets, and even a Google search bar. I was thinking to myself how lost our users are when they can’t access this very important intranet page, it’s like, well, their Portal to our corporate world.

Now this is were the wheels really started turning! I asked myself, “What if”, I love “What if’s”, “What if, a person at home could have their very own intranet page, or lack of better words, their very own Portal to the World Wide Web?” After all, I saw first hand how important our company’s intranet page was and how efficient it made everyone’s life. If somehow I could create a website that would allow anyone from age 5 to age 105 easily create their own home page, that would allow them add links to their favorite websites, upload an image as their background, integrate Google Search, and let them add widgets or RSS feeds, then I could make everyone’s life a little easier, fun, and even efficient!

I thought to myself, I'm going to do this! From that 6 hour road trip, Portalbella.com was born…but wait….as I was driving, I was thinking of a name for the site, which took me quite a while, and when I thought of Portalbella, the name just stuck and I couldn’t get it out of my head…but would the domain name be available ….nope!

Like every other domain name out there, some one bought it and parked it! I knew I had to have this domain name to make it all work, but I couldn’t spend $2000 or $3000 for it which I figured would be the asking price. I got the email back from the company selling the name, scrunching my face, I proceeded to open the email, and to my surprise I see a very reasonable price…whew, I thought…and after a little negotiation, which I’m not that clever at, I got it even cheaper!

Armed with the domain name, programming skills, and being single - a requirement, I worked nights after work until 1am, 2am, and sometimes later building a site that I hope many of you will find fun, useful, and even let you be a little creative.

....and the ironic thing is, I don't even like mushrooms!!

Well Katie is in the City now , I guess some of the story is true. Beening perfect is not so easy after all. I guess she needed a break from that hollywood life.

Golden Globe Awards in a show of support for striking writers, the actors union said, dealing a blow to the glittering red carpet extravaganza.
Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg said in a statement there was “unanimous agreement” among actors not to cross picket lines set up by writers locked in a bitter dispute with film and television producers.
Rosenberg said the boycott would cover all nominees up for acting awards in the January 13 event, regarded as the second most important awards show in Hollywood after the Oscars. It would also cover stars acting as presenters.
The decision means that nominated A-listers such as Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks and George Clooney are all likely to steer clear of the Globes, greatly diminishing one of the highlights of Hollywood’s awards season.
“After considerable outreach to Golden Globe actor nominees and their representatives over the past several weeks, there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters,” Rosenberg said.
“We applaud our members for this remarkable show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of America (WGA) writers."
The head of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which runs the Golden Globes, said the organisation remained optimistic of reaching a deal with the writers which would allow the show to go on.
“The HFPA has been placed in an extremely difficult position with the ongoing Writers Guild strike,” HFPA president Jorge Camara said in a statement.
“We are making every effort to work out a solution that will permit the Golden Globes to take place with the creative community present to participate. We hope to announce a resolution to this unfortunate predicament on Monday."
Hollywood screenwriters have been on strike since November 5 after the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) failed to agree terms for a new contract that expired in October.
Negotiations have foundered over the writers’ demands for an increased share of profits from Internet and new media sales.
The two-month strike has forced the suspension of numerous television series as well as the postponement of work on several Hollywood films.
Hollywood has been abuzz with speculation in recent weeks over how the strike may impact the myriad awards shows leading up to and including the Oscars on February 24.

“Britney has lost the opportunity to make decisions for herself,” says Dr. Stacy Kaiser, an L.A.-based psychotherapist. “The law is in charge of her. It’s very rare.”
Committed under California’s “5150 Hold” – in which Spears was deemed a danger to herself and/or others – she is not permitted to leave Cedars-Sinai “under any circumstances” for at least 72 hours.
“She will be isolated, and all her behavior will be monitored,” says Kaiser. “They’ll make sure she doesn’t have any drugs on her. They will closely watch everything she puts in her mouth. If they’re giving her medication, they will make sure she takes it.” It is unlikely she is being restrained, “but if she is being difficult and argumentative, they could sedate her and strap her down,” says Kaiser, noting that the 5150 is so extreme because it strips a patient of nearly all autonomy.
So Britney is isolated, receiving psychological evaluations and is in unfamiliar surroundings. I think being forced to stay out of the media for even a short period of time might do her some good. I have to admit I am feeling a little sorry for her, at least she’s getting some help even if it wasn’t her choice.

update:Since being released from the Cedars-Sinai psych ward this morning, Britney Spears has been on the go. Spears was seen leaving her gated Beverly Hills home in her white Mercedes, as soon as she saw the paps she made a quick U-turn and went back into the gated community. Pagesix reports that Britney was on route to pal Sam Lufti's house, but Sam has been trying to track her down all day. Apparently Britney ditched the hospital and her family to meet up with her married boy-toy photog Adnan Ghalib. Where will she go next?? Stay tuned...

Did a fashion publicist just out Naomi Watts as a mom-to-be? Although the New York Post's Page Six reported on Wednesday that the actress is expecting a baby with boyfriend Liev Schreiber, her rep has officially kept mum. Then on Sunday night a rep for Escada, which designed Watts's Oscar gown, sent out a press release reading in part, "The ESCADA gown set off her most precious new asset – the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber." Christina Aguilera is pregnant - it has been claimed. The 'Aint No Other Man' singer and her husband Jordan Bratman allegedly spent $3,000 in Beverly Hills baby boutique Bellini on Saturday and were overheard excitedly talking about the pregnancy. A staff member told In Touch Weekly magazine: "She came in with her husband, and he sat in one of the big chairs and let her do her shopping. They said they don't know what they're having.They seemed really excited. She was talking to another customer and said she had taken a home pregnancy test and that it was positive. She kept saying they'd have to come back when they knew the sex of the baby." The couple are said to have bought a dozen Petit Bateau romper suits at $20 each, several $90 Little Giraffe blankets, a $350 Mia Bossi polka-dot diaper bag and a Peg Perego stroller, and paid in cash. However, a spokeswoman for Christina has denied she is pregnant or even went to the store. She said: "It is not true. It's all made up. She was not at Bellini. She was on a plane to Las Vegas for her NBA appearance."

Britney Spears Returns To Rehab, Family Court Hearing Cancelled
LOS ANGELES (February 22, 2007) – For the second time in under a week, Britney Spears has checked into a California rehab facility according to her manager.
The pop star's manager confirmed to the Associated Press, Britney checked into Promises Malibudrug and alcohol rehabiliation center. No further details were given.
A paparazzi agency told Access Hollywood their snappers spotted the pop singer returning to Malibu treatment center Promises under the cloak of darkness last night.Earlier this week Spears checked into the same rehab and left the next day."She hasn't been reasonable in a good while," a source close to the singer told Access Hollywood. Britney has been drinking and partying and she has suffered from years of "instabilities," the source added.In related news, last night Spears' soon to be ex-husband Kevin Federline and his lawyers called an emergency hearing in family court.
The hearing was cancelled this morning, though no reason was specified.Federline has been looking after his two children with Spears, Sean Preston and Jayden James since Thursday, a source close to Brit's ex confirmed to Access.
"Kevin is a compassionate and kind person and he's interested in the best interest of his sons, Sean Preston and Jayden," Federline's lawyer Mark Sands said in a statement released to Access Hollywood.
There are no plans to reschedule the hearing Sands confirmed.
